Tropical vape pen Vape in Bristol: the flat shortlist
Tropical in Bristol: 20 units tested over 8 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £3.57 per 10 ml.
Ordering into Bristol usually means waiting 2–4 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: tropical in Bristol works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical vape pen really costs in Bristol
The honest read on tropical: 20 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested tropical in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 2–4 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest vape pen available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Wholesale lines to the UK need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Bristol: about £3.57 per 10 ml liquid plus £34 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within £3.57 per 10 ml once 2–4 business days is counted.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
